According to sources, at noon on June 28, the container barge Yongshifeng 802 tilted at the Shekou Container Terminal in Shenzhen, and 10 containers on board fell. The ship is equipped with EMC, WHL, YML and other export containers, and the container volume is about more than 50 units.
According to port circle news, the shipment includes 6 20-foot containers, 44 40-foot heavy containers, 2 freezers, and non-hazardous chemicals. After loading the ship, the on-site staff at the terminal found that the ship was tilted, and immediately communicated with the ship and asked for adjustment. After several adjustments, the ship was still tilted, and immediately informed the shipping company to arrange a load reduction plan as soon as possible, and finally communicated with the shipping company to cancel the loading of 3 boxes.
At that time, the tide was low, and the water flow at berth #9 of the wharf was relatively fast. The barge was moved to the No. 6 position of the inner harbour for adjustment and unloading at around 11:00. During the adjustment process, the ship tilted at 12:17, which eventually caused the container to fall.
It is understood that the Shekou Container Terminal launched the emergency plan immediately, and immediately reported to the Shekou Maritime Safety Administration, Nanshan Administration and other departments, and notified Lianda tugboat to cooperate with the shore for disposal as soon as possible. At 14:00 on the afternoon of the 28th, the first tank was salvaged and brought ashore; at 17:38, all the tanks that fell into the water and were placed on the shore and the barge were all salvaged ashore.
The wharf responded quickly and the emergency response was timely. Finally, the overwater cargo containers were controlled and salvaged in time, and no cargo containers sank into the sea and did not affect the waterway and surrounding waters.
